About the health workforce

The Health Services Union is 47,000 workers across our NSW health system. We are the backbone of NSW Health- cleaners, cooks, wardspeople, administration, security. We are your health professionals- physiotherapists, social workers, radiologists, speech pathologists, aboriginal health workers. We provide essential emergency health care- first responder paramedics.

We are the essential healthcare workers who keep our hospitals functioning. But we can’t function when there’s not enough staff.

We are the health professionals who prevent, diagnose and treat conditions and illnesses. But it’s difficult to give our patients the treatment they deserve while we’re constantly pressured to free up beds.

We are the paramedics who are first responders at emergencies. But we can’t respond if ambulances are backed up in emergency departments.
